FAQs

Where should I park?

There is ample metered 2 hour parking along Ventura Blvd. There is also treet parking along the sidestreets, Arch and Fruitland Drive.  (Thursdays 10-Noon is street sweeping along Arch Drive) Metered parking is $1 per hour.  You are only able to park in the lot behind Up Flying Yoga if you are attending a class before 10 am or if you are eating at Bollywood Cafe before or after class.

What should I bring/wear?

Bring your open mind and a positive energy. Wear comfortable, fitted clothing. Leggings that cover your knees, and shirts with sleeves are required. You must remove all jewelry. Grip socks are required and available for sale in the studio. Be mindful that you will be hanging upside down. Please, no strong scents or perfumes. For Aerial Dance, long socks or leg warmers can be helpful for this class. Be sure your waist, knees and armpits are covered. Compression clothes are also helpful for advanced classes.

Do I have to make a reservation or can I walk-in?

Please understand we cannot accommodate walk-ins. Every practitioner who signs up is reserving their own apparatus for the duration of the class. Our instructors create the class structure based-on class sign ups.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is a 12 hour cancellation policy for all classes. If you would like to cancel or reschedule, you can easily log in online 12+ hours BEFORE your scheduled class start time to retain your credit. â€‹For personal training and parties, there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you would like to cancel or reschedule, please contact us 24+ hours BEFORE your scheduled start time. Thank you for understanding.

How do I make a reservation?

Please visit our online scheduler to purchase classes and make your reservation. â€‹â€‹We ask that you sign up for classes no less than 12 hours in advance to ensure your spot. Class registration closes an hour before each session. If you don’t see a class time that works with your schedule, talk to us. Let us know your preferred time and we’ll try our best to get you up in the air.

What should I do if I'm running late?

Because of the nature of our classes, we regret we cannot accomodate late arrivals. At the beginning of each class, we review several important safety instructions including measuring each student for their own apparatus.  This process cannot be done after the start of class without causing significant disruption to your fellow flyers. Our doors open 15 minutes before class time.  If you arrive well before the doors open, please feel free to wait in our patio area. If you are unable to arrive on time, please understand, you will be forfeiting your spot in class and will be charged for the session.  This strict policy is in place for your safety and the safety and courtesy of your fellow flyers.

What should I expect?

Expect fun! Every yogi gets their own apparatus (hammock, silks, hoop, etc.) for the entire duration of the session. Our goal is to give you a workout ‘above the rest’ focusing on flexibility, strength, and most importantly, fun UP in the air. Our moves are derived from Yoga, Pilates and the Aerial Arts. We invite you to swing, hang upside down, and use the comfort and support of our aerial hammocks to aid in body positioning and body alignment. Our Up Flying Yogaâ„¢ Level 1 class gets you comfy with hammocks about three feet above the ground. It's a perfect starting place absolute beginners. If you're new to Yoga or the Aerial Arts, we have modifications for every pose.
